Paul Robertson of Victoria Golf Course has announced that he will generously be donating his 2020 CGSA/Bayer Superintendent of the Year Bayer plant protection package to The Lanigan Golf Club, which is the course that started his superintendent career. The package is part of the award given to the annual winner and is valued at an estimated $5,000.
“The Lanigan Golf Club and the board of directors took a chance on me as a young superintendent,” Mr. Robertson noted during his acceptance speech. “They welcomed me as part of the community and gave me the career that I love.”
Mr. Robertson also highlighted the hard work done by all superintendents and staff even though it is not always recognized, and encouraged the community to continue providing opportunities to the next generation of new superintendents.
Mr. Robertson was given the award on March 2, 2021 during the Canadian Golf Course Management Conference.
